It contains text that is meant to draw in a reader and generate interest in the book. This page can be considered the first page of the book. Set at the beginning of the 13th Century. The story recounts the exploits of Ivan Asen II and his re-claiming of the throne of Bulgaria from his cousin Boril. Although it is based in an historical setting and much of the background story is actual fact, the development of the story has been pure fantasy. Part 1 follows Baron Daniel von Felden, commander of two thousand mercenaries known as The Lizard knights. Starting with a snapshot of Daniel's childhood and following through to his meeting with the very evil Queen Darcia of the Strigoi.  Part 2 tracks Ivan's story up to his joining the Lizard Knights.
